Welcome and How Do You Do?

Welcome to my new blog where I plan to share the information that I have gathered by self-publishing comic books. Keep in mind that these are my methods that I have developed via trial and error and your mileage may vary. Hopefully, these posts give you some ideas and direction which is more than I had when I began this journey in 2004.

Who am I?
I am your host L Jamal Walton. I'm an all-around comics guy with the ability to create a comic from beginning to end. My experience encompasses everything from idea development to the final product. I write. I draw. I ink. I flat. I color. I letter. I pre-press. I post-press. When it comes to comics if you name it, I've probably done it. At this point chances are I've done it for myself many, many times and have been paid to do it for others.

My first published work can be seen in the pages of Digital Webbing Presents#7. My most recent published work (as of this post) can be found in the pages of Tales of the TMNT
#39. Earlier this month, I put the finishing touches on colors for Midknight #2 from Red 5 Comics and by the beginning of January, I have an even larger project launching.

That's me in a nut shell, so I hope that I can share some knowledge with you.
